At Dear Bestiee, our goal is to create a safe, kind, respectful, and judgment-free space where you can have meaningful one-to-one conversations with a real person.


These Community Guidelines explain the standards we ask every user to follow while using the Dear Bestiee mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").


By using the Service, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines in addition to our Terms & Conditions.



1. Be Kind and Respectful

Dear Bestiee is built on kindness, empathy, and mutual respect.


When communicating through the Service, please:

  • Be respectful.
  • Be patient.
  • Communicate honestly.
  • Respect personal boundaries.
  • Treat conversations with kindness and courtesy.

Please do not:

  • Use abusive, threatening, insulting, or offensive language.
  • Harass, intimidate, or bully.
  • Attempt to manipulate, pressure, or exploit.
  • Engage in hateful or discriminatory behaviour.

We reserve the right to end conversations or restrict access where communication becomes abusive or unsafe.



2. Use Dear Bestiee Responsibly

Dear Bestiee is intended to provide emotional support, friendly conversation, and companionship.


Please do not use the Service to:

  • Engage in unlawful activities.
  • Request assistance with illegal activities.
  • Seek instructions that could cause harm to yourself or others.
  • Send spam or repetitive messages intended to disrupt the Service.
  • Attempt to misuse, disrupt, or interfere with the operation or security of the Service.


3. Respect Your Privacy

Your conversations are personal.


Before sharing information, please consider whether you are comfortable sharing it.


For your own safety, avoid sharing:

  • Banking or financial information.
  • Passwords or security codes.
  • Government identification numbers.
  • Other highly sensitive personal information that is not necessary for your conversation.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, you are responsible for the information you choose to share.



4. Be Honest

To help us provide meaningful conversations, please provide truthful information when creating your account and communicating through the Service.


Do not:

  • Pretend to be someone else.
  • Create accounts using false identities for deceptive purposes.
  • Attempt to impersonate another individual or organisation.


5. Appropriate Conversations

Dear Bestiee is intended for thoughtful and respectful conversations.


Please do not use the Service to:

  • Share unlawful content.
  • Share sexually explicit material.
  • Promote violence or hatred.
  • Encourage criminal activity.
  • Upload malicious software or harmful files.
  • Repeatedly send offensive or abusive content.

We may refuse to respond to conversations that violate these Guidelines.



6. Dear Bestiee Is Not an Emergency Service

Dear Bestiee is not a crisis counselling, emergency response, medical, or mental health service.


Do not rely on the Service during situations involving:

  • Medical emergencies.
  • Mental health emergencies.
  • Suicidal thoughts or self-harm.
  • Abuse or immediate danger.

If you are experiencing an emergency or crisis, immediately contact your local emergency services or an appropriate crisis support service in your country.



7. Human Responses Take Time

While we always aim to respond thoughtfully and as promptly as possible, response times may vary depending on:

  • Message volume.
  • Availability.
  • Time zones.
  • Operational requirements.

Please be patient while waiting for a response.



8. Consequences of Violations

If these Community Guidelines are not followed, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Decline to respond to a conversation.
  • Remove inappropriate content where applicable.
  • Issue a warning.
  • Temporarily suspend your account.
  • Permanently terminate your account.
  • Report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities where required by law.

The action taken will depend on the seriousness and frequency of the violation.



9. Changes to These Community Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time.


If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service, website, email, or other appropriate means where required by applicable law.


Your continued use of the Service after the updated Community Guidelines become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Community Guidelines.
